Finding and living in one's purpose is extremely important. It is a topic that touches home for me. I was eighteen years old when I gave birth to my daughter over thirty years ago and became a single mother. It was a journey I was unprepared for. At the onset of this journey, I lost both of my parents, suddenly and unexpectedly. I dropped out of high school before graduating, moved from home, and tackled the world "like an adult" the best I knew how.
Most of my road in life was bumpy and unpredictable; consisting of major twists and turns. Often, I felt alone, unloved, abandoned, rejected and without purpose. I struggled and fought through criticisms and ill wishes until I was able to stand firmly on my own, me and my child. The joy of raising a beautiful girl was such an amazing accomplishment for me, but I got stuck there. I got stuck in a bad place. I needed more and I needed to give more. I knew that my life had more to offer and I had something inside of me to give that could help other people. I needed to find my purpose...and that is what I did.
In May 1997, I proudly graduated from Lincoln University with a Master's Degree in Human Services. With my daughter on the cusp of graduating high school and on her way to college, I was able to direct my focus on a forgotten person...me. Years to follow: I used my education, knowledge, and personal experience to provide therapy and countless counseling and coaching sessions to women who struggled with self esteem and self confidence issues. I created a greeting card line, Give From the Heart, I wrote two poetry books, Feelings from Within I and Feelings from Within II. I expanded and succeeded in the area of relationship (marital) coaching, I hosted a radio program, Stir up Your Gifts, and many more accomplishments. Today, I continue to be a channel of support to men and women who desire to fight past a place that I once was in and find their purpose and to live it out freely.
I am an expert in my field and I do not hesitate to help and assist others unto greatness. I know what it is like to be down, needing a push of encouragement and, I can confidently say, that through the process of personal development and wellness, I was able to rise up.
